I’m Really Good at Taking Breaks (if anyone’s hiring)

So my last posting was in August of last year.  A LOT has happened.  My family and I moved back to Denver from Ft. Lauderdale.  Sidenote: don’t ever move to South Florida; it’s just gross, bad driving, unpleasant people, ridiculously sweaty weather.

So before I got pregnant, my weight was down to 175 lbs.  My ultimate goal is 150, but I was so close.  I had changed my eating habits and was regularly going to the gym doing cardio and lifting.  Over the course of about a year and half I had went from 240 lbs to 175.  Theeeeeeen pregnancy happened and I ballooned up to 245 just before having our son.  Then came Whole 30 and more mindful eating and I dropped down to 220 where I stayed for a few months.

I got back into teaching part-time and a coworker told me about Weight Watchers and how it helped her lose her baby weight.  I bit the bullet and bought a 6 month online membership.  I figured Weight Watchers has been around for so long and it’s not as wacky as eat a bunch of bacon and cheese and we swear you’ll lose weight.

So I’ve been on Weight Watchers now for about 4 months now and I’ve dropped 25 pounds.  I’ve hit some plateaus, but overall it has been a great experience!  The app and counting up points makes it feel almost like a game.  It has really helped me get control of how much I should and should not be eating each day.  The really rad thing about WW (that’s what they’re naming the new Weight Watchers) is that you can totally have your cheeseburger, you just need to be mindful of what else you eat.  Since starting, I’ve got my mom on WW, too!  She’s also liking it and has lost a good amount of weight.
